Today, credit cards are alternative to cash and many people prefer to keep them as credit cards are also status symbol. But , it is seen that today because of one or the other reason many people are in disputes with credit card provider. It is also seen that many times it’s the credit card provided who is at fault. One can have dispute with Credit Card Company or credit card issuing bank because of the following.

Credit card dispute resolution can be done with the help of banking ombudsman. Yes its time for you to cheer up as banking ombudsman can really take you out of all types of credit card disputes and resolve all credit card disputes. Many people are not aware of banking ombudsman and they continue to suffer with credit card disputes.

 As per the Banking Ombudsman Scheme, 2006

 The Banking Ombudsman can accept and judge any complaint relating to the following is deficient in banking services:

·         non-payment otherwise excessive postponement in the payment or collection of cheques, drafts, bills

·         non-payment or delay in payment of inward remittances ;

·         failure to provide or delay in providing a banking facility (other than loans and advances) promised in writing by a bank or its direct selling agents;

·         delays, non-credit of proceeds to parties' accounts, non-payment of deposit or non-observance of the Reserve Bank directives, if any, applicable to rate of interest on deposits in any savings, current or other account maintained with a bank ;

·         levying of charges without adequate prior notice to the customer;

·         non-adherence by the bank or its subsidiaries to the instructions of Reserve Bank on ATM/debit card operations or credit card operations;

Complaint to Banking Ombudsman may be filling by sending email, letter etc. While writing the application you must mention the following details

  •  Name and address of the complainant,

  • Name and address of the branch of the bank against which the complaint is made,

  •  Highlight the facts with the supported documents, if any,

  •  Nature and degree of the loss caused to the complainant,

  • Respite wanted from the Banking Ombudsman Declaration about the fulfillment of state of affairs
